The top five bestsellers from the Tex-Mex Hard Rock Cafe menu

It’s been four months since the much-awaited Hard Rock Cafe opened its doors at Park Mansions on Park Street, and since then it has turned out to be quite a popular party pad. Not just the live gigs and cool cocktails, the eighth outlet of HRC in India also serves a delish Tex-Mex menu.

“Everyone loves American food such as burgers, nachos and the big platters and that is what Hard Rock Cafe primarily serves. Barbecue is also very popular in America, particularly in Carolina and Texas. So we try to bring the taste of authentic American-style barbecue to people,” said Cyrus Irani.

On a recent visit to the city, Cyrus Irani, the brand’s executive chef, Pan India and Lagos (Africa) Operations, JSM Corporation Pvt Ltd, told t2 why the HRC menu captures the Texas food culture. He also picked five bestsellers from the HRC fare.

If you are in a big gang, ordering the Jumbo Combo Non-veg platter is a good idea. Crispy onion rings, Southwest spring rolls, bruschetta, hot wings and Tupelo chicken tenders, served with their homemade honey mustard and barbecue sauce. The chef’s favourite? Tupelo chicken tenders, named after Elvis Presley’s birthplace in Mississippi. Rs 750
“Always season” was the mantra as t2 stepped into the kitchen of Hard Rock Cafe to watch chef Cyrus Irani prepare their iconic Red Hot Chilli Fries. Topped with cheddar sauce, salsa and sweet chilli sauce, you can’t stop eating these! Rs 460
If there is a signature HRC  drink that people keep coming back to, it is the Hurricane — a concoction of rum and amaretto along with orange, pineapple and other juices.  Rs 550
The Pina Colada is a go-to sip in summer. Refreshing and sweet, this drink is a favourite too. Rs 495
If you can’t choose between chicken and pork, get both with this unique Hickory Smoked Barbecue Combo. Slow-cooked till tender, the pork falls off the bone and the barbecue sauce is just yum. The melt-in-your-mouth chicken is delicious too and comes with the same barbecue sauce. “We get the pork from the Netherlands and cooking it for the right time is the key to having it tender,” said Irani. Rs 1,075
