Weekends are a very special time for me ? when I have one to myself, that is. For us, so many weekends mean work, as a lot of shows and events are held on Fridays and Saturdays. So I take the term ‘weekend’ to essentially mean ‘free time’ and this can happen anytime during the week. Who says you can only party on Saturday night?

I love going on long drives and whenever I get the time, I head out of the city with friends. Sometimes, we drive to Pune and back the same day, or drive out to one of the hill stations. We also love to party in Goa and go there for the weekend whenever it’s possible, though with all my friends getting busier with their careers, this just isn’t possible very often anymore. If we don’t have enough time to head out of Mumbai, we hit the road within the city and go on late-night drives. It’s a great feeling to drive on these roads that are so crowded during the day but seem miraculously open and deserted at night.

I am a huge biking enthusiast and part of a small group of bikers who call themselves the Mumbikers. It’s nothing very organised ? just a bunch of biking-crazy people who love to show off their bikes and riding skills. A lot of people in this group are from the modelling and entertainment industry and it’s fun to just hang out with them.

If I’m at home, sometimes I call friends over and we rent DVDs of old English films. Going out to the movies has also become a regular affair. Or we just head out to our favourite restaurants and nightspots like Henry Thams in Colaba, Squeeze in Bandra and this new lounge bar called 11 Echoes in Juhu. Some of the older places like Not Just Jazz By The Bay are also perennial favourites.
