DEEPIKA PADUKONE

On her second year at the Cannes film festival as the brand ambassador of L’Oreal Paris, Deepika Padukone looked angelic on the red carpet in a sheer gown and cape by Zuhair Murad. Nude lips, soft eyes, side-parted wavy hair, solitaires on the ears and fingers... we liked this look better than her last year’s  appearances. But this Zuhair Murad creation did remind us of Priyanka Chopra’s gown by the same designer at the Oscars 2016!
Immediately after the red-carpet appearance, Deepika switched to a spring-summer attire and make-up. With the white Monique Lhuillier flowy maxi dress that had spurts of colour in it, she opted for blushed cheeks,  nude eyeshadow and centre-parted hair. We loved her Shanghai Scarlet lip shade from L’Oreal Paris.
Mastani worked the latest high-waist flared denim trend with a plain white ganjee and a sleek chain. Square dark frames added badass vibes. #DenimLove
Candy stripes and everything nice. This Tome NYC dress had flirty flared sleeves that we will keep an eye out for.
We like the choice of colours of this flowy, printed polo-neck maxi dress. Muted pink and black combined with an easy fabric was rounded off with a high pony, winged eyes, pink lips and giant earrings. The retro vibe is cool but a little less would have been better.

KANGANA RANAUT

The Queen made an eye-catching debut on the Cannes red carpet in an embroidered Zuhair Murad gown with a long trail. Messy hair, a hint of side boob and the pastel green of the outfit was a nice blend of sexy and classy.
Audrey Hepburn meets Mumtaz — that’s what we thought when we saw Kangana Ranaut’s first Cannes look. While we dig the glamorous ‘Aakash-tara’ black sequinned Sabyasachi sari and teenmaniya necklace, the whole make-up and hairdo seems a tad out of place for the occasion.
Kangana put the fash frat on red alert when she stepped out in this Nanushka knotted leather wrap dress, skinny shades by Poppy Lissiman and Neous heels that were half-transparent. The no-accessory look and right attitude won our hearts!
Huma Qureshi, who also made her debut at Cannes this year, opted for designers like Varun Bahl and Nikhil Thampi but this Manish Malhotra tulle gown worn with a Drome jacket and Out House Jewellery was the best.
