My favourite cosmetic brands are L’Oreal, Revlon and Maybelline. I prefer a natural look usually, so I use a coloured chapstick from the Nivea lip care range and avoid wearing lipsticks whenever I am not shooting. Whenever I do have to wear make-up, I make it a point to apply moisturiser before doing so. I also attach a lot of importance to wearing a sunscreen before stepping out in the sun. Since I am blessed with normal skin I can take the liberty of changing my cosmetic products. |
I am a 27-year-old woman. I started to wax my underarms two years ago. Now the skin has turned dark. I always go for cold wax and apply powder after waxing. Even the whitening deodorants have not helped. Please help.

Constant friction in the underarms, that is, rubbing against surrounding skin and tight clothing can cause dark underarms. It can also be caused by improper cleansing and using poor quality deodorants.
Dark underarms can also be caused by dead skin build-up, sweat and other impurities. To help lighten it a bit you need to exfoliate. You could perhaps exfoliate every week to get rid of all the dead skin residue. Do not overdo exfoliating though because this will only irritate your skin further.
Alternatively, instead of using scrubs available in the market you can make your own scrub at home. All you would need is one heaped tablespoon of oatmeal mixed with a quarter cup of raw milk. Make a smooth paste and apply on your underarms. Exfoliate in a circular motion gently for a minimum of two to three minutes for each underarm. After doing this massage the skin with a few drops of vitamin E oil.
