My profession requires me to wear a lot of make-up. So from being oily my skin has gone dry now. To keep it hydrated I use a Boots moisturiser and follow a rigorous cleansing and toning routine. A good sunscreen is also a must — I prefer the sunscreen from Lotus. I also make it a point to consume plenty of fluids like coconut water and fresh fruit and vegetable juices. It is very important to keep the skin clean so I always carry wet tissues as they are very handy. |
I am 22 and have combination skin. I have been using a lot of make-up for the Pujas. Now my skin looks dull. However, I need to look bright and radiant for a family function. Please tell me how to go about it.

‘Radiant’ and ‘glowing’ are terms we use when someone looks well, but often we’re just describing their skin. Follow your daily skincare routine and you’ll notice a new vitality. Daily skincare should be all about prevention and protection. Start regular cleansing, toning and moisturising twice a day. Ensure that you always remove your make-up thoroughly before going to bed and drink plenty of mineral water. Exfoliate sensibly — regular exfoliation plays an essential role in removing dead skin cells, that make the skin look dull, from the skin’s surface. Creams containing exfoliating alphahydroxy acids (AHA) can make a real difference. Protect your skin: Always wear a sunscreen on your face, neck and arms. Apart from your basic skincare regime, take time out to give your skin some special treatment. Face masks pep up all skin types. Quickie emergency wake-up masks that refresh the skin definitely rate as a necessity after an overload of make-up and late nights. Getting a pampering facial just before a special occasion aside from your usual skincare regime can make a real difference to your skin and the way you feel.
