Adding to the list of new lounges and chill spots in the city is Rikki’s Bar and Kitchen on Sarat Bose Road, off Minto Park. The lounge-cum-restaurant has come up at the spot where The Great Booze Story (TGBS) used to be. Rikki’s Bar and Kitchen is a unit of A.P. Fine Dining and is co-owned by Rikki Dewan, who also owns Pepperchino by Don Giovanni’s. The grungy, industrial look of TGBS is gone. The new hotspot is done up in pop shades, colourful wallpaper and bright lights. An island bar with a seating capacity of 25-plus will greet when you walk in. The red and white chandeliers give off a warm glow.

“We wanted to have an all-day place for guests to chill over drinks but also have a hearty meal. It was a conscious decision to not have a dance floor. We have enough leg space so people can get up and dance wherever they are!” said Rikki.

There is a console which will be manned by DJs Hussain and Supriyo, who will play the best of commercial.

After the day’s work, getting to unwind with your legs folded is satisfying. Keeping that in mind, the lounge has a separate hookah section that doubles as a private party section for 50-60 people.
The mezzanine floor channels owner Rikki’s passion for travelling. The wallpaper captures the essence of Venice. “It is one of my favourite places; it captures the feel of Europe so beautifully,” said Rikki. Book it for private parties or catch up with your friends, the mood on the mezzanine floor is laid-back and a separate bar on this floor will make it a lit night.
How about digging into a bowl of piping hot Khow Suey? This Burmese dish is cooked with ingredients like coconut milk, an array of condiments and that squeeze of lemon which makes it so flavourful.
Made with cottage cheese, seasoned with corainder and condiments and then shallow-fried on a tawa until light brown — the non-spicy Tawa Paneer just melts in the  mouth.
If you are looking for something spicy, the Mutton Burra Kebab is what you should pair with your tipple. Coated in spices, this fall-off-the-bone mutton kebab is all about robust flavours.
There is nothing like a glass of refreshing cocktail and Litchi Sandrela is a good example. Litchi crush, pineapple juice, a hint of lemon juice topped with soda and crushed ice has the right amount of sweetness and punch to get you rolling for the night.
