Telecom gear maker Nokia on Tuesday said it has begun the production of 5G equipment at its manufacturing site in Chennai.

The Finnish firm was the first to manufacture 5G New Radio in the country and is now producing the Nokia AirScale massive Multiple Input Multiple Output (mMIMO) solution. The equipment is already being exported to many countries in advanced stages of 5G deployment, the company said.
