New Delhi, May 10: Demand for cars and bikes rose over 16 per cent in April, while that for commercial vehicles rose 68.5 per cent. Car sales in April stood at 74,536 units against 63,932 units in the same month last year. Nine automobile companies recorded a rise in demand following the 8 per cent excise duty cut on small cars.
