BMW India posts highest-ever sales in 2022

BMW India has posted its highest-ever sales in 2022 as the German auto maker managed to sell more than 19,000 units in the country. It posted an year-on-year growth of almost 37 per cent for its luxury cars, excluding the Mini brand. Sales figures for BMW cars in India during CY2022 stands at 11,268 units.

Mini’s sales in the country during CY2022 stood at 713 units with an Y-o-Y increase of 11.4 per cent. This means the overall car sales figure for the BMW marque stands at 11,981 units with a 35 per cent Y-o-Y sales during CY 2022.

BMW Motorrad managed to sell 7,282 units of its motorcycles in India during CY2022 with an Y-o-Y sales improvement of more than 40.2 per cent.

As a result, the exact sales figures for the German auto maker in India stands at 19,263 units with an overall Y-o-Y sales increase of 37 per cent.

The seventh generation all new BMW 7 Series has been launched in India along with the first-ever BMW i7. With this, the BMW flagship will be available in petrol, diesel and electric powertrains.

The BMW 740i M Sport is locally produced at the BMW plant in Chennai while the all-electric BMW i7 xDrive60 is available as a completely built-up unit (CBU).

The diesel variant will be introduced later. The cars can be booked at BMW India dealerships. Deliveries will commence from March 2023.

The all-new BMW 740i M Sport is priced at Rs 1,70,00,000 ex-showroom and the BMW i7 xDrive60 is priced at Rs 1,95,00,000.
