Boko faces drinking water crisis

The Boko public health engineering department’s subdivisional officer Babul Boro hoisted the Tricolour in the office compound on Thursday. In his speech, he said he hoped to see the people and children of Boko drink pure water. The flood-hit area is facing a drinking water crisis. On the other hand, three youths, Bikram Kalita, Nayan Jyoti Rabha and Hirok Jyoti Das from Boko celebrated Independence Day with leprosy patients at Rajiv Gandhi Leprosy Training Centre. They distributed food items to the patients.

Meanwhile, school students and teachers of Sampupara Pathar Lower Primary School under Chaygaon LAC celebrated Independence Day on the submerged compound.

Abdur Rezzak, teacher of the school said every year they have to celebrate in this manner. Recent floodwaters still submerged the school compound.

He also added that the school administration had requested the district administration and Chaygaon MLA Rekibuddin Ahmed several times to solve the problem so that students can attend the school without hesitation but nothing has been done to solve the problem.
