
Ranchi, July 17: The Jharkhand Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (JIIDCO), a state-run agency to facilitate single-window clearances for potential investors, is on the revamp mode to streamline its overall functioning and ensure ease of doing business.
The agency has started the process to bring on board some seasoned professionals by creating new posts, besides filling up exiting vacancies, to provide better support to corporates looking for investment opportunities in this mineral-rich state.
Sources claimed as many as 10-12 professionals would be hired in the posts of general manager, accounts officer, accountant, company secretary and assistant engineer, among others.
State industry director K. Ravikumar, who doubles up as the managing director of JIIDCO, said that they wanted to upgrade the agency by roping in some experts, who would help improve the overall functioning of the agency. "We are looking for experienced people from central/state PSUs or for that matter retired employees of Jharkhand government to fill up these positions," he added.
A senior official with the state industry department said to start with, prospective candidates would be hired on contract basis, but they would be given job extensions based on their performance. "Government wants to strengthen the corporation so as to ensure speedy clearances for prospective industries in the state," he added.
The last date for applying for the posts of general managers (administration and single window), accounts officer, senior accountant, company secretary, assistant engineer (civil), database administrator (single window), and system developer (single window) is August 11. Eligible candidates can send their applications through registered post to JIIDCO office on the third floor, new Riada building, industrial estate in Namkum industrial area, Ranchi.
According to the officer, the role of a general manager (single window) will be to assist investors in single-window operations, coordinate with different government departments and agencies for matters related to clearances, among others. Company secretary, on the other hand, will have responsibility to ensure compliance with legal and statutory requirements on part of corporate majors who want to set up their shops in the state. "Thus, these positions will require efficient and experienced people," he added.
The Raghubar Das government is gearing up for its first Global Investors' Summit in February 2017 to hard-sell Jharkhand as a premium destination for industries.
The government has already set in motion hectic campaigning and lobbying activities, lining up a series of curtain-raisers across the country as well as abroad, to reach out to potential investors and make the proposed summit a grand success.
Das and his team met captains of industry at Taj Mahal Palace Hotel in Mumbai on July 8 to create a buzz for the upcoming investors' summit to be held in Ranchi.
Similar, meets will be held in cities like Bangalore, Hyderabad, Delhi and Calcutta in coming days. The chief minister and his core team will also tour places like US-Canada, Australia-New Zealand and Japan-China-Korea-Singapore circuits to attract investment.
