The Supreme Court on Friday issued notices to the Centre and Twitter India on BJP leader Vinit Goenka’s petition seeking the formation of a regulatory mechanism to check advertisements and paid content that may be hateful, inciting or seditious.

A bench headed by Chief Justice S.A. Bobde tagged the petition along with other PILs in which petitioners had sought a leash on mainstream and social media from promoting hate and seditious propaganda.
