New Delhi, March 15 (PTI): The ministry of external affairs has told the National Human Rights Commission that radio collars have been removed from 12 of 18 Indian students of Tri-Valley University and the devices will be taken off the bodies of the others too.

The commission had issued a notice to the ministry on February 6 alleging human rights violation of the students, who were victims of a visa-fraud.

Quintuplets

Amravati (PTI): A 22-year old woman gave birth to five babies at an Amravati hospital on Monday but none of them survived. Sunita Manish Bhumbar, pregnant for six months, delivered the quintuplets in a span of three hours, doctor-in- charge A.R. Salunke said. The babies died as they were premature.

CWG bail

New Delhi (PTI): Businessman Binu Nanu, held over the Commonwealth Games scam, was granted bail on Tuesday by Delhi High Court. He was held for allegedly paying kickbacks to the organising committee officials to secure lucrative contracts.

Body in box

Mumbai (PTI): A body of a woman was found in a suitcase on a platform at Sandhurst Road railway station in Mumbai in wee hours of Tuesday, police said. A local resident, who witnessed a man leaving the suitcase on the platform, informed the railway control room, the police said. The man escaped.

Exam cheats

Indore (PTI): A school principal and a lecturer were suspended on Monday for helping students cheat at an examination centre in Indore. Principal Chandrakanta Rathore and lecturer Prema Kushwaha were suspended on the charges of indulging in irregularities and showing laxity in performance of duty.
