Make sure that you always use a sunscreen before stepping out in the sun. As an added protection, carry an umbrella or a hat when you are going outdoors. Get a sunblock with high SPF that is suited to your skin type. Mix 2tsp pure sandalwood powder with enough cold milk and lemon juice to make a smooth paste. Apply this all over the tanned area and let it dry. Wash it off first with milk and then with water. You need to do this twice a week.

It is high time you incorporate some lifestyle changes and go in for a regular skincare programme. Drink at least eight glasses of water daily. Include lots of fresh fruits, vegetables and salads in your diet. In order to keep your skin oil free, wipe it with rose water thrice a day. Also use the following scrub. Take 2tsp each of masoor dal, rice powder, fuller’s earth and dried neem leaves. Mix all the ingredients and store them in a jar. Take 1tsp of this to which you have added a pinch of camphor and rose water to make a smooth paste. Apply this all over the skin and keep it till it dries. Then dab with coconut water and scrub off. You need to do this at least thrice a week for best results.

Go in for regular oil massages with either sesame seed oil or olive oil. Follow this with turban therapy and then apply a mayonnaise hair pack. This is an excellent cure for dryness of hair.
