Some lucky women are born with naturally good skins. But neglect can very easily ruin even good skin. Many young women come to me looking for instant solutions for their skin and hair problems which they hope that I can solve overnight.
But since we live in an ‘instant’ era of instant food, instant banking, instant heating and so on, I too have conjured up some ‘insta’ magical natural recipes that are guaranteed to work. These are sure to give fabulous results for your skin and hair problems.
Dull, tired-looking and dry skin can be rejuvenated by treating it to this home-made scrub. Make a paste of papaya, oats and honey by adding a little cold milk to these ingredients. Apply this paste on the skin and after massaging it in, wash off with ice-cold milk and water. Pat dry.
Those suffering from flyaway hair can try this simple, quick and easy-to-make spray. Take slices of two lemons and simmer in two cups of water until the water reduces to half. Pour this into a spritz bottle and spray on your hair. Not only will this give your hair a wonderful natural shine but static and flyaway hair will become a thing of the past too!
To get rid of under-eye bags and dark circles, take used chamomile tea bags and store in the freezer. Grate half a cucumber and massage around the eye area. Lie back and place the frozen tea bags on your eyes for 10 minutes. You’ll find an instant difference in the way your eyes look and feel.
For an instant natural facelift, wash your face with ice water or simply rub an ice cube with a teaspoon of honey. Beat an egg white until it peaks and brush onto your skin and let it dry. You’ll feel as if your skin has been stretched. Wash your face with ice-cold water and see the difference.
If you don’t have the time to shampoo and blow-dry your oily hair, all you need to do is sprinkle talcum and amla powder onto your hair brush. Throw your head forward with your hair inside out (as it were) and brush from the nape of the neck to the tips of the hair.
Now throw your hair back and voila! You have bouncy oil-free hair in seconds.
These are just a few of my secret ‘insta’ beauty recipes. Use them but never substitute them for a regular skin and hair care regimen.
