I swear by M.A.C and all my cosmetics are from the brand. I am not much of a make-up person though. I only like to do my eyes. I like the smoky eyes look a lot. Other than that I try to keep the make-up minimal and go for a natural look. For my hair I use just about anything I can get my hands on and do not have any fixed brands. The only thing I am particular about is washing my hair everyday. Other than this I believe in drinking a litre of water everyday. Also, beauty comes from within so my mantra is to stay happy, enjoy life and fill it with creativity. That is all one needs to look fabulous. |
I am a 15-year-old girl. I have very sensitive and dry skin. All I do for my face is use a face wash and follow it up with a face cream. I don’t apply much make-up but occasionally I do wear light make-up. The problem with my skin is that I get pimples very fast and they seem to go away only after a week. I want to get rid of them completely. Also, my face has got a bit of a dark texture due to the sun even though I use a branded sunscreen with SPF-50. I would really like to learn some simple remedies to get rid of these problems.

You may just be born with sensitive skin, which tends to be fair, delicate, and sunburns easily. You may also experience some of the symptoms of sensitive skin at various periods in your life due to emotional and physical well being and lifestyle. Sensitive skin can be prone to blemishes, flakiness, blotchy patches, rashes and cracking, and it can feel uncomfortably tight and burn or sting. Dry skin exacerbates any sensitivities you may have. If your skin is tight and itchy from dryness, it will be more prone to all kinds of reactions. Acne and dry skin can coexist on the same face. Generally, the fewer the ingredients, the safer you will be. Stick with formulas that are extra mild. Use a light textured, oil-free moisturiser and lotions and milks especially developed for reactive skin types. Some ingredients are known for their soothing and anti-inflammatory properties like green tea, chamomile, seaweed, aloe vera, lavender, oatmeal and glycerin. If you feel a sting, immediately wash off whatever you’ve applied and pat dry. Try spraying a facial mist containing essential oils and hydrating ingredients. Use only sun protection formulated for acne-prone skin and make sure you rinse off all residue from your face at the end of the day. Try to avoid prolonged exposure to the sun as the ultraviolet light increases the skin’s sensitivity and will darken the lesions on your face which take longer to fade away causing the skin to look darker over a period of time.
