Saira shah halim 3image and training consultant My skin is oily so I make it a point to keep it squeaky clean and stick to a Neutrogena facewash and astringent. I believe in minimal make-up and M.A.C is my preferred brand for lipsticks, eyeshadows and foundation. The brand’s cosmetics suit my skin type as they are hypoallergenic and easy on my skin allowing it to breathe. I also make it a point to highlight the most defining feature on my face with make-up and it’s mostly my eyes and I mostly keep the lips nude. |
I am a 27-year-old woman with a lot of facial hair. I get threading done once in a fortnight but it leaves spots on my face. Is there any other way I can get rid of this problem. I’ve tried bleaching but that does not help and waxing leaves my skin red and loose. Please help.

When threading or waxing is done on the face your pores open up and if not cleaned properly then bacteria will lead to spots. By the very nature of threading and waxing, both of which pluck the hair from skin or near the roots, there is always going to be a certain amount of irritation. With threading comes the risk of two conditions, acne and folliculitis. Both introduce bacteria into the hair follicle, allowing pimples to form.
To prevent and reduce bumps and blemishes, before threading or waxing, try to clean the area with a good antiseptic facewash or sanitise the treatment area with antiseptic wipes (unscented). Afterwards, use a blemish fighting cream with benxoyl peroxide to avert potential infection in the follicles or you can calm the area with aloe vera gel and run an ice cube to help reduce redness and close the pores.
Also, wearing make-up is not recommended after facial threading. You must keep the area clean for at least 24 hours to prevent clogged follicles, ingrown hair and irritation.
Most importantly, find an experienced professional to do your facial threading. If done incorrectly the hair can break and hair regrowth will show up much quicker.
