Calcutta: Textiles major Arvind Ltd is planning to scale up its business to Rs 10,000 crore in the next five years from around Rs 6,000 crore now.

The key growth drivers will be the addition of verticals, expansion of the advanced materials division, which is into specialised textiles, and the adoption of technologies that will help to scale up operations and bolster the Arvind brand, Susheel Kaul, CEO, lifestyle fabrics, knits and wovens of Arvind Ltd, said on Wednesday.

The company plans to invest Rs 1,500 crore over the next three years to meet its target, which will be funded from its regular cash flow.

"We do not need to dig into our reserves. We have enough regular cash flow," he said.

The company plans to grow its textiles division and foray into newer business areas such as active wear and scale up the brand.

Kaul said the brand Arvind, which is estimated to be worth Rs 400 crore now, will be scaled up to Rs 1,000 crore.

Kaul, who was in the city to launch a festive collection named "Millennial's Choice", said the company manufactures over 32 million pieces of garments a year from the more than 250 million metres of fabric that it produces annually.

"Only 10 per cent of the fabric we produce is being garmented now. We would like this to grow at least to 40-50 per cent but a lot will depend on the brands who we work with," Kaul said.

Arvind works with several top global brands such as GAP, Levi's and Zara and is present in 10,000 retail touchpoints and 200 exclusive outlets. In sync with its ambitious growth plans, the company also plans to double its workforce of 43,000 over the next few years.

The introduction of "Millennial's Choice" is part of Arvind's strategy to strengthen its presence in Bengal by offering customers fabrics and ready-to-wear offerings in the price range of Rs 800 to Rs 1,500. It will be available across all exclusive stores, retail outlets and major multi-brand outlets.
