PMC charts cleanliness map

The Patna Municipal Corporation has engaged 2,600 sanitation staff of which 1,600 are deputed for cleanliness work.

Patna-based Nishka Security and Intelligence Services and Delhi-based People's Association for Total Help and Youth Applause have engaged another 900 sanitation workers under the door-to-door garbage-collection programme.

"Around 25 compactor, 100 auto-tipper, 150 tractors and 12 JCB machines are being used by the PMC," said civic body commissioner Abhishek Singh. Mayor Sita Sahu said: "We will study the PMC's existing sanitation infrastructure and discuss these in the standing committee meet on Friday."
