Manish injured, Dinesh in squad


Calcutta: Manish Pandey has been ruled out of the upcoming Champions Trophy with a side-strain. Tamil Nadu wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik has been named as Manish's replacement.

Manish suffered a side strain on his left side during a practice session of the Kolkata Knight Riders ahead of their Eliminator match against the Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Karthik was one of the five stand-byes and has been rewarded for his rich form in the domestic cricket last season.

Karthik scored 607 runs during Tamil Nadu's victorious Vijay Hazare Trophy campaign, including a century in the final. He has also scored 704 runs in the Ranji Trophy and 361 runs in the ongoing IPL X.

He last played for India against Afghanistan in the 2014 Asia Cup in Bangladesh.Karthik has played 23 Tests and 71 ODIs for India.
