Tales of a past perfect

Students deliberate on ideas at Future Faces: A Heritage Conclave, a part The Future of the Past Season 2, in association with The Telegraph, at Future Media School on Wednesday. The conclave was attended by 11 schools. The students were invited to form groups and come up with creative ideas involving a heritage community. Artist Sumona Chakravarty, who was a part of the jury in Season 1, explained this year’s theme to the students and shared her experience of working in similar community-based projects such as Chitpur Local, which explored the jatra community and culture around the Chitpur area involving local artistes and students of Oriental Seminary School. At the end of Wednesday’s session, the students also came up with probable ideas for the project. Some of the participating schools were Abhinav Bharti High School, DAV Public School, Techno India School and BDM International. Dancer Paromita Saha, the brain behind the concept and planning, and Mousumi Ghosh, the founder-director of Future Media School, also addressed the students. The last date for application is December 7. There will be a day-long pitch session at Future Media School on December 18. Five shortlisted teams will get till February 2017 to work on ideas, after which they will be showcased.
