Dhubri, Oct. 6: Goddess Durga and her devotees can enjoy a cool ambience at Sabuj Sangha pandal in Raja Prabhat Chandra Barua Maidan here.

"Mother ascends from Kailash with her family to martya (earth) for four days. The entire pandal has been air-conditioned for her stay. Revellers will also be able to stay cool in this scorching heat," said Probir Kumar Sircar, president of the Sabuj Sangha Durga Puja Celebration Committee.

He said the image of a snow-capped Kailash will also be visible in the pandal. The committee has been organising the Puja since 1951.

A senior committee member, Tapan Dey, said artists and technicians from Maruganj of Cooch Behar district in Bengal have been working round the clock for the past fortnight.

"Uttam Dutta is the main artist and technician while lighting and other illumination has been done by Manish Barman of Mathabhanga in Cooch Behar. We have a budget of over Rs 6 lakh," Dey said.

In Senpara, visitors can have a glimpse of the Ramkrishna Mission of Rishra. Elora Decorators of Bilasipara in Dhubri district prepared the replica. "Our budget is around Rs 3 lakh," said Sanjit Das, a member of the Senpara Community Puja Celebration Committee.

The Rabindrapally Sarbajanin Durga Puja Celebration Committee in ward 12 is celebrating its silver jubilee.

President of the committee, Biswajit Das, said the contract for lighting was given to decorators from Chandannagar in Bengal.

"We have budget of Rs 6 lakh for our silver jubilee year. People have been enjoying the beautiful lighting for the past few days," said Purnendu Chakraborty, a senior member of the committee.

The All Dhubri Puja Co-Ordination Committee has appealed to everyone celebrate Puja peacefully.
