Youth arrested

Guwahati, Oct. 6: Sahidul Islam, 28, was arrested today on the basis of a complaint lodged by N.K. Sarma, personal assistant to health and education minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.

Sarma on October 2 had alleged that he received a text message from Islam demanding Rs 5 crore.

Islam was arrested from his rented residence at Baghorbari here. He is originally from Kalgachia in Barpeta district of lower Assam, police said.
