Maharana tame Lokhra


Guwahati, Jan. 21: Maharana AC inflicted a nine-wicket defeat on Lokhra SC in today's match of the Ramesh Barooah Trophy cricket tournament, organised by Gauhati Town Club at Judges Field here.

Put in to bat, Lokhra SC were bundled out for 74 in 19 overs and the Maharana men reached 78 for one in 12.4 overs.

For Lokhra, Ruful Ali topscored with 18 (2x4, 1x6) and Dabloo Yadav chipped in with 11 (1x4, 1x6) to be the only batsman to score in double figures.

Imtiaz Hussain of Maharana took the scalp of three for 18 runs, while Rio Pramanik and Jiten Kumar picked up one each.

Urooz Rizvi remained unbeaten on 39 (6x4) to be the topscorer for Maharana and Parthajit Baishya remained not out on 11 at the end of the match. Laxman Choudhury picked up the only wicket, conceding 11 runs.

Tomorrow, Guwahati Cricket Coaching Centre will meet SG Sports Club.
