Shillong United in 2nd spot

Shillong, June 11: The 10th match of the ongoing under-19 Shillong Premier League saw Shillong United jump to second place in the standings with a 3-0 win over Royal Wahingdoh here today.

The young Wahingdoh team has struggled in all three of its matches so far to hold off the opposition early on and that proved to be the case once again with L.P. Kumar slotting the ball for the opening goal in the 14th minute. His teammate P.C. Lalhruaitluanga doubled the lead 11 minutes later, with Y.B. Meitei delivering the coup de grace in the 53rd minute.
Shillong United now has six points from three outings and is second behind leader Rangdajied United. Wahingdoh is yet to register its first points and is in seventh place, just ahead of Laitumkhrah on goal difference. Friday’s game will see Laitumkhrah play Shillong Lajong at 4pm.
