Man beaten

Guwahati, Aug. 19: An army constable was beaten up by his co-passengers for his alleged attempt to molest a woman on board the Dibrugarh-Delhi Rajdhani Express in Assam today.

The alleged incident happened between Lumding and Chaparmukh stations in a three-tier AC compartment this morning.

The Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel caught the accused, identified as Kulvinder Singh from the Military Engineering Service.

He was handed over to Government Railway Police (GRP) at Guwahati railway station.

The accused was posted at an army camp at Amingaon.

A GRP source said no case was registered in this connection as no FIR was lodged.

“The accused was later handed over to the army authorities,” the source said.
