Namrup thrash Muttock 6-1

Dibrugarh, Aug. 18: Namrup Town Club edged past Muttock Tea Estate 6-1 in a match of the second Umesh Gogoi invitation football championship at Lahoal Rural Stadium in Dibrugarh district today. The tournament is organised by Lahoal Sports Association under the banner of All Assam Football Association. In the first half, Namrup dominated the game. Striker Richard Shah of Namrup opened the account with a goal in the fourth minute. Richard struck again for his team in the 17th minute. In the 48th minute, defender Rakesh Gogoi of Namrup Town Club ruffled the net for the third goal. Rakesh completed his brace in the 50th minute. Richard found the net for his hattrick in the 57th minute.

Defender Manash Pratim Chetia netted another goal for Namrup Town Club in the 71st minute. Striker Dilit Mura of Muttock fired in the only salvo for his side in the 59th minute.
