BJP switch anger

Arambagh, Aug. 11: Suspected Trinamul workers hurled bombs and set fire to a barn in the home of a Hooghly businessman today, a day after he joined the BJP along with over a hundred followers.

Joynal Khan, a former CPI district committee member known to have considerable clout in Arambagh, managed to escape with his family through the back door as 50-odd suspected Trinamul workers broke three iron gates to enter the house, hurled bombs in the compound and set fire to the barn.

Trinamul denied its party workers were involved in today’s attack, putting the blame on villagers. A BJP delegation will visit the village tomorrow.
