Iran crash

Dubai, Aug. 10 (Reuters): At least 39 people were killed today when an Iran-140 Sepahan Air passenger plane crashed after takeoff from Tehran’s Mehrabad airport, state media reported.

The pilot detected technical issues four minutes after takeoff and tried to return to the airport, state television said, but the twin-engine turboprop crashed on a road. A witness said the plane crashed into a wall.

President Hassan Rouhani has ordered a halt to all flights of the Iran-140 pending full investigation, Islamic Republic News Agency said.
