Franklin Templeton Investments (India), one of the largest mutual fund houses in the country, launched Shubh Laabh, an initiative to help people prosper through mutual funds, in East Singhbhum district on July 25. A part of district adoption programme, the initiative backed by Sebi and coordinated by AMFI (Association of Mutual Funds of India) envisages 188 districts to be adopted by various mutual fund houses to improve awareness and penetration of mutual funds. Publicity and advertisements apart, Franklin Templeton will also hire MF Sevaks in East Singhbhum who will interact with potential consumers to explain how they can invest in mutual funds and prosper

Guinness record

Mobile service provider Uninor has made it to the Guinness Books of World Records for the biggest-ever retail expansion by any company in the world. A company source said Uninor had opened as many as 362 retail stores at the same time on a single day across its six circles of operation in India. With this, the mobile service provider now has second highest number of retail stores among all operators in those six circles


Leading direct selling FMCG company Amway India expanded its make-up portfolio last week by launching Attitude compact powder across the country. Priced at Rs 699, the compact is available in two shades — light and medium — and promises a matte finish. Attitude products include skincare and cosmetic items targeted at the youth market.
