Protest lock on school

Alipurduar, July 30: Around 50 residents of Falakata today locked the main gate of a primary school after the two assistant teachers of the institution did not reach on time.

Today, over 80 students of Harekrishna Nagar Primary School at College Para in Falakata assembled in front of the institution around 11am, when the school starts. But they could not enter as the two assistant teachers came in only around 11.30am.

Biswajit Saha, a protester, said: “For the past few months we have noticed these two teachers never come to school on time. The head teacher does. We have complained to the sub-inspector of schools. No classes were held today.”

Head teacher Biswanath Dutta did not come to school today. Noang Dorji Bhutia, the sub-inspector of schools, Falakata, did not answer calls.
