BCPL clears air on recruitment

Jorhat, July 22: The management of the Brahmaputra Cracker and Polymer Limited (BCPL) through a press communiqué today clarified its stand on how persons were recruited into the company.

The communiqué stated that it had come to the notice of the BCPL that some unscrupulous persons had been fraudulently taking money from educated youths in the name of the company and assuring them of permanent jobs in the BCPL.

It said the BCPL recruits its regular employees through open competition according to the the presidential directives under recruitment rules of the company. While recruiting manpower, emphasis is laid on requisite experience in relevant areas in order to operate this sophisticated plant smoothly. “Candidates have to fulfil certain eligibility criteria for a particular post in order to get shortlisted for appearing in a written test and/or group discussion and the interview,”

The management said the BCPL had not yet issued any advertisements in the third and fourth grades/posts nor had assigned any person to accept applications on its behalf.

The communiqué said the vacancies/posts of the BCPL are published in the national and local newspapers and a detailed advertisement is put up on its website. The vacancies are also notified to the local employment exchange.

The BCPL does not take any application/test/interview through any person or agent. In other words, BCPL does not recruit in its roll through any contractor or agency, the communiqué said.

The management reiterated that any person receiving such a call letter is advised not to take cognizance of the same.

“In case, any person entertains/responds to such a call letter on behalf of the BCPL, then the company hereby clarifies that it will not be held responsible,” the communiqué said.
