Goalpara edge past Sonitpur

Guwahati, July 20: Goalpara got the better of Sonitpur 8-7 via sudden death in the first match of the day in the Dewkon Trophy Under-17 Inter-district School Football Tournament at Nehru Stadium here today. Both sides managed to score two goals each in the regulation time.

In some of the other matches of the day, Tinsukia thrashed Cachar 4-0 while Dhemaji edged past Nalbari 1-0. Morigaon defeated Bongaigaon 2-1 while Kamrup (metro) eased past Dhubri 4-0. Chirang defeated Hailakandi 5-0 while Dibrugarh defeated Dima Hasao 3-0. Baksa got the better of Jorhat 4-0 while Karbi Anglong defeated Barpeta 3-2 via tie-breaker. Darang defeated Karimganj 2-0 while Nagaon got the better of North Lakhimpur 2-1.

On Friday, Brijhora High School won the Pilik Choudhury Inter-district School Football Tournament.
