‘Banking’ back pain

London, June 23 (PTI): An Indian-origin bank employee who claims she suffered severe back injuries from lifting heavy boxes at ICICI’s London branch is suing the Indian private lender for over 1.5 million (Rs 15.3 crore) in London High Court.

Shilpa Pattani, who worked in the the bank’s flagship Knightsbridge branch between 2007 and 2009, said she has been left in “unbearable pain” after moving boxes of promotional brochures that had been “dumped” on and around her desk. The bank is contesting her claims.
