Rejig in IAS

Patna: The government on Thursday shifted principal secretary, tourism, B. Pradhan to the food and consumer protection department in a minor reshuffle of the bureaucracy. he outgoing principal secretary, consumer and food protection, Deepak Prasad has become tourismís principal secretary. He has also been given additional charge of the Bihar State Tourism Development Corporationís managing director. Joint secretary, general administration, Giriwar Dayal Singh would replace Bandana Preyasi as Madhubani district magistrate. She has been shifted to general administration. he government also notified the posting of 10 IAS officers of the 2013 batch for field training. The officers have been posted as assistant collectors in Patna, Muzaffarpur, Madhubani andSaran among others.

Remand

Patna: Police have taken Ajay Verma, a criminal lodged in Beur Central Jail, on a seven-day remand to question him on the loot and robbery incidents, which hit Patna lately. Senior superintendent of police Manu Maharaaj said there was a possibility that he was involved.

Arms supply

Patna: Four arms suppliers were arrested on Thursday from the Dhanarua police station area. Police said the men used to bring arms from Munger and sell it to customers in different parts of the state, including Patna.

Sadhu looted

Patna: The house of Sadhu Yadav, the brother-in-law of RJD chief Lalu Prasad, was looted late on Wednesday night.
