Little enter semi-final

Imphal, June 10: Little Master English School, Samurou, beat Lilasing Khongnangkhong High School by a solitary goal to move to the semi-finals of the Imphal West District Subrato Mukherjee Football Tournament, 2014 played at Khuman Lampak sports complex.

The under-17 category boys’ event saw Little Master strike the only goal through P. Samananda Singh in the 12th minute and the team managed to hold on to the lead till the final whistle for the victory today.

In another match of the same category, CT Higher Secondary School defeated Nilamani English School, Mayang, Imphal by 2-1 goals to proceed to the semi-finals.

L. Dinesh found the opening goal for Nilamani in the seventh minute.

CT, however, replied with Piyananda Singh fetching the equaliser in the 38th minute and Hemboy Singh striking the winning goal in the 45th minute to sail into the semi-finals. In the under-14 boys’ event, Nilamani English School edged past Royal Academy of Learning by 5-3 goals through a tie-breaker to book their semi-final berth.

Malom Megha High School blanked Mayang Langjing High School 6-0. Ak. Nongangba and Th. Nilakanta struck two goals each while S. Naoba and A. Suranjoy fetched one goal each en route to the semi-finals.
