eZone, the lifestyle electronics wing of leading retailers Future Group, opened its new store on the fourth floor of Big Bazaar complex in Ranchi on May 17. Spread across 4,400sqft, the mega electronics store with the tag line of “smarter living” offers its customers the choice of a wide range of branded products across various product segments under a single roof. These include ACs and coolers, TVs, home theatres, microwave ovens, refrigerators, washing machines, laptops and PCs, Android phones, cameras, smartphones and gaming accessories. “We’ve received overwhelmingly positive response in other parts of eastern India and we expect the same from Ranchi as it is an expanding city,” said Waseem Ahmed, eZone’s east zone head

Tech meet

TRF Limited engineers converged to share and acquire knowledge at “Leveraging Technology for Excellence”, an event at its JRD Tata Learning Centre in Jamshedpur on May 19. Engineers brainstormed on using new technology for excellence in product design and delivery. TRF managing director Sudhir Deoras stressed on the need for constant knowledge enhancement, learning and training with the aim of keeping abreast with new technology and the need to apply new skills developed from this exercise for designing and making Products

Smarter phones

Panasonic launched P-81, the latest addition to its P series of smartphones. The 13.97cm, 1.7 GHz smartphone with octa-core processor runs on Android and has an in-built 13MP auto-focus camera, informed the company officials in Ranchi. Priced at Rs 18,990, it comes with freebie apps worth Rs 9,900 and accessories worth Rs 2,000

On board a special bus

Tata Motors vice-chairman Ravi Kant visited the auto giant’s Jamshedpur commercial plant on May 19 and took stock of production. The same day, Kant also visited Asha Kiran School for special children. Senior company executive gifted the school a 46-seater bus from the Starbus Ultra Skool range. The vehicle has easy entry and exit, seating comfort and conforms to government-mandated bus body code and safety features
