North to get more buses

Siliguri, May 23: The West Bengal state transport authorities will soon introduce 141 new buses on different routes of north Bengal under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission scheme.

Baishwanor Chatterjee, the deputy chairperson of the state transport department, today said: “We are going to introduce 141 new buses under JNNURM. These will soon ply on various routes of Siliguri, Jalpaiguri, Alipurduar, Malbazar and three hill subdivisions of Darjeeling districts.”

He made the announcement after a meeting with officials of his department and tour operators in Siliguri.
