Guwahati, May 23: Guwahati Cricket Coaching Centre sealed their place in the final of the first Maharishi Bora Trophy Cricket Tournament defeating hosts Gauhati Town Club Cricket Centre by seven wickets in the second semi-final at Judges Field here today.

The match started late owing to a downpour in the wee hours, which resulted in Guwahati Cricket Coaching Centre bowlers cashing in on the excessive moisture in the wicket.

Put in to bat, Gauhati Town Club boys put up a total of 126 runs before being all out in 28.5 overs.

Neeraj Sharma scored 31 runs off 27 deliveries while Zibran Das chipped in with 21 runs off 43 balls.

Sohail Hussain picked up three wickets going for 15 runs in five overs while Dharani Rabha scalped two wickets conceding 30 runs in 5.5 overs.

Chasing a modest total, Guwahati Cricket Coaching Centre batsmen got past the target losing three wickets in 25.2 overs. Ranjan Sarkar topscored with an unbeaten 34 runs off 37 balls studded with three boundaries and a six while Sanju Basfor contributed 24 runs off 27 deliveries. Shivam Mandal remained not out with 21 runs off 33 balls. Rohan Dutta and Shamim Akhtar Hazarika picked up one wicket each for their side.
