South Point, Digambar win

Guwahati, May 22: Sree Digambar Jain High School and South Point School registered convincing wins in their respective matches of the Dhan Sena Sinha 10th All-Assam Inter-School Prize-money Cricket Tournament, organised by River Rine Cricket Coaching Centre, at Latasil ground here today.

In the first match that was truncated to an 18-overs-a-side affair, Digambar Jain boys trounced Noonmati Public School by 84 runs while in the second match, South Point handed a 27-run defeat to Students’ Faculty High School.

Put in to bat, Digambar Jain were restricted to 113 for eight in the 18 overs and the Noonmati boys were out for 29 runs, including 20 runs which came in as extras, in 13.3 overs. In the other match, South Point, put in to bat, were restricted to 141 for eight in the 20 overs and the Students’ Faculty boys were all out for 114 in 18.4 overs. In tomorrow’s matches, Pasaria KK High School will play Pragjyotish English High School and Sonapur Chamata Higher Secondary School lock horns with Maharishi Vidya Mandir, Kalipur.
