More time for MCA?

Calcutta: The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) hopes of regaining the IPL VII final on June 1, one understands, are still alive.

Though nothing has been declared officially, sources late on Saturday revealed that the MCA has been given two days’ time to get the No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the local administration regarding the fireworks show and playing loud music after 10pm on the final day.

It is understood that all members of the governing council may not have been very keen to grant MCA the opportunity, but the Board’s interim president (on IPL matters), Sunil Gavaskar, requested that two days’ time be given to the association.

It is obvious that if the MCA fails to get the NOC in a couple of days time, the final, as per the revised schedule, will be played at the Chinnaswamy, in Bangalore.
