Well-wishers keep Ramtahal on toes

Ranchi, May 17: The day after the election verdict remained hectic for Ranchi MP Ramtahal Choudhary, who wrested the coveted seat from Congress’s Subodh Kant Sahay yesterday.

While a steady flow of well-wishers and BJP workers at his Kuchchu area residence on the outskirts of the city kept the new parliamentarian busy, his supporters began preparations from early morning for a grand celebration in the evening to mark the BJP’s landslide victory.

Senior BJP leaders and workers made a beeline at Choudhary’s house with bouquets and garlands to congratulate him.

Subha teen baje soye the, cheh baje uth gaye. Logon ka aana jana laga raha (I had gone to bed around 3am and woken up around 6am. Since then, people kept flocking),” said Choudhary, who skipped his breakfast this morning.

On the other hand, a section of party workers and office-bearers remained busy preparing for the victory celebration and processions.

“I have prepared 45,000 laddoos. Now, I am planning to sponsor a feast for party workers from my pocket. I am happy with the victory of Modiji and Choudhary,” said Prakash Nahta, a caterer who settled in the city 35 years ago after coming from Deshnauth in Rajasthan.

Another party worker, Lal Singh, was excited. “After a long time, we are celebrating like this,” he said.

Choudhary took his lunch around 2pm, and then went to Kali Temple at Sukurhuttu to pray to the almighty. In the evening, he went to take part in a victory procession at BIT More, from where he headed for another rally at Kokar.

Then, he went to the RSS office at Nivaran and the BJP office at Harmu to meet senior party functionaries and thank them for their support.
