Nota gets more votes

Around 60 lakh voters opted for the “None of the Above” (Nota) option, more than the votes secured by 21 parties, including the Janata Dal (United), in the Lok Sabha polls, PTI reports.

As many as 59,97,054 voters punched the Nota button, which amounts to 1.1 per cent of the total votes polled across 543 seats.

The percentage and number of votes under Nota was more than that polled by as many as 21 parties, including JD(U), CPI, JD(S), Shiromani Akali Dal and others. In Bihar, 1.6 per cent (5,81,011) voters opted for Nota.
