Manipur to clash with Delhi girls

Dibrugarh/Golaghat, May 8: Manipur will play Delhi at Bokakhat and Odisha will lock horns with Jharkhand at Golaghat in the two semi-finals of the 20h Senior National Women’s Football tournament on Sunday.

While Manipur topped the Group-A table with full 15 points, Delhi topped the group C tally with 13 points at Dibrugarh.

Odisha also finished unbeaten on 15 points in Group-B in Dibrugarh, as Jharkhand wound up their Group-D campaign with 13 points.

Hosts Assam had to bid adieu with seven points, winning two and settling for a draw out of five group D league matches in Golaghat.

Haryana blanked Karnataka 2-0 in a Group-B inconsequential yet high-voltage encounter at Jalan outdoor stadium in Dibrugarh today.

After a barren first half, midfielder Kiran opened the account for Haryana in the 48th minute. Seema made it 2-0 for Haryana in the 75th minute in the one-sided affair.

Towards the fag end of the match, Karnataka skipper Amoolya Kamal had a scuffle with Haryana midfielder Kiran and injured her, leading to a free-for-all situation in the last minute. Play was interrupted for three minutes. Uttarakhand blanked Arunachal Pradesh 1-0 in yet another Group-D match at Golaghat DSA Stadium today. Striker Nikita Asawan scored the lone goal for her team.
