Guwahati, May 4: Gauhati Town Club annexed the Bhupen Chandra Mahanta Guwahati Sports Association first Division Cricket tournament title, defeating Ankurjyoti Club by 22 runs on the basis of a 15-over run aggregate rule at Nehru Stadium here on Saturday.

Ankurjyoti posted 120 runs before being all out in 35 overs while the GTC batsmen were at 75 runs for the loss of three wickets in 17.4 overs when the match was abandoned because of rain. Opting to field proved to be the right decision for GTC as they went on to bundle Ankurjyoti batsmen out for 120 runs in 35 overs. Ambar Bhattacharjee remained not out on 17 runs. Sujit Gowala picked up three wickets for 24. In reply, the GTC batsmen were at 75 runs for the loss of three wickets in 17.4 overs when the rain played spoilsport.
