Champ defeat Youth

Imphal, May 2: Champ Khagempalli posted a five-wicket win over Youth Welfare Club, Langthabal, to storm into the final of the first Brajabihari Paul and Govind Paul Memorial Trophy at Luwangpokpa Cricket Ground today.

In the first qualifier, Youth Welfare rode on Kishan Singh’s unbeaten knock of 22 runs from 34 balls to pile up 121 runs losing all wickets.

Champ bowler William picked up three wickets while Kennedy and Rojit Singh bagged two wickets each.

In reply, Champ reached the target easily, losing five wickets in 25.1 overs. Bonny Singh made 27 runs from 35 balls.

Bishorjit Singh claimed two wickets.

Football: Veteran Sports Association of Imphal drubbed Northern Club Development Association 4-0 in the 16th Challenge Cup Veteran Football Tournament at Mapal Kangjeibung today.

In another match, Football Veteran Welfare Association drubbed All Yairipok Master Football Association 3-0.

Swimming: Central Swimming Club, Wangkhei, bagged six gold medals in the 30th State Age Group Aquatic Championship held at Khuman Lampak swimming pool.
