Sivasagar tame Rangia

under-13 cricket

Guwahati, May 2: Sivasagar continued their winning streak, registering their second consecutive win against Rangia by nine wickets in a match of the second Umananda Bora Under-13 Inter-District Cricket Tournament at Barsapara Cricket Stadium here today.

Rangia had to be content with 10 players, as one of their players was barred from play because of being over-aged.

Put in to bat, the Rangia batsmen could manage a paltry 33 runs for the loss of nine wickets in 18.3 overs. Ansuman Gogoi was the pick of the Sivasagar bowlers with four wickets in his kitty for 16 runs in eight overs while Archis Gogoi scalped two wickets, giving away four runs in 3.3 overs. Krishi Agarwal took one wicket conceding four runs in one over.

The Sivasagar boys eased past the target losing one wicket in 8.3 overs.

Master Jarzoo Mili remained unbeaten with 14 runs off 23 deliveries, while Aruhan Kashyap contributed 13 runs off 23 balls. Abhishek Barman picked up the lone wicket going for seven runs in three overs.

Golaghat will play Morigaon tomorrow.

Earlier yesterday, Sivasagar thrashed Bajali by 217 runs.

Electing to bat, Sivasagar put up a competitive total of 259 runs for the loss of five wickets in 40 overs. In reply, Bajali were all out for 42 runs in 23.4 overs.
