Lajong to play Bagan

Hailakandi, April 30: Mohun Bagan AC will lock horns with Shillong Lajong FC in a Friendship Cup football match at the Satindra Mohan Dev Stadium in Silchar tomorrow.

While the Mohun Bagan team reached Silchar today, Lajong reached yesterday. Both the teams had brief practice sessions today. President of District Sports Association (DSA), Silchar Badal Dey said the Mohan Bagan team had earlier played in Silchar in 1963, 1964, 1980 and 2007.

Secretary of DSA Babul Hore said the ground has been prepared for the match.

Lajong team manager Birendra Thapa said Silchar stadium has always been “lucky for us” as they had qualified for the I-league from the same ground. “Silchar is the second home for Shillong Lajong,” he said, adding that they expected the crowd’s support in tomorrow’s match.
