Biswanath beat Bokakhat

Guwahati, April 28: Biswanath Chariali registered a 72-run victory over Bokakhat in their match of the second Umananda Bora Under-13 Inter-District Cricket Tournament at Barsapara Cricket Stadium here today.

Electing to bat, Biswanath Chariali put up a total of 185 runs before being all out in 39.2 overs. Karan Koch scored 34 runs off 52 deliveries, which included two hits to the fence, while Navajit Tanti chipped in with 33 runs off 35 balls, which featured four boundaries. Dipankar Borah with 28 runs off 38 deliveries and Ranjan Kalita with 25 runs off 69 balls were the other notable contributors.

Siddhartha Goswami and Abhishek Chhetry picked up three wickets each, while Durbesh Gupta, Sonu Sarma and Raja Ali bagged a wicket each. In reply, the Bokakhat boys managed 113 runs before being bundled out in 38.2 overs.

Bibek Thapa remained not out with 24 runs off 53 balls and Akash Gautam on 10 runs off 20 deliveries.

There were 47 runs in extras. Navajit Tanti picked up three wickets conceding 16 runs. Goalpara will lock horns with Bongaigaon in the first quarter-final tomorrow.
