Don Bosco in final

Guwahati, April 25: Don Bosco School will play Srimanta Shankar Academy in the final of the Nabin Chandra Tamuly inter-school cricket tournament, organised by Guwahati Cricket Coaching Centre, at Nehru Stadium here tomorrow.

In the semi-finals played today, the Bosconians tamed Fairyland High School by nine wickets while Shankar Academy crushed Faculty Higher Secondary School by eight wickets.

Put in to bat, the Fairyland boys were bundled out for 80 in 22.4 overs and the Bosconians reached 84 for one in 13.3 overs.

Arun Pradhan (16, 3x4) and Atul Kr. Singh (13, 1x4) were the only notable scorers for the side.

Aman Bothra of Don Bosco bagged four wickets for 15 runs and Aryaman Pangal picked up three for 13. Rohan Dutta also claimed two wickets for 17 runs.

For Don Bosco, Shivang Das and Rishiraj Bora remained unbeaten on 26 (5x4) and 25 (5x4) respectively. Nihal Das (24, 5x4) was another notable scorer for the side.

Rahul Ali picked up the only wicket, conceding 23 runs.

Aman Bothra was named the Man of the Match.

In the second semi-final, the Faculty boys opted to bat and were all out for 83 in 17 overs. In reply, the Shankar Academy boys achieved the target losing two wickets in 13.4 overs.

Digpranta Thakuria topscored for Faculty with 21 (4x4) and Kumar Kashyap remained not out on 18 (4x4).

Adhiraj Hazarika of Shankar Academy hauled four wickets for 25 runs and Abhilash Goswami bagged three for 21. Tanuj Kalita chipped in with two for six runs.

Tanuj Kalita also remained unbeaten, topscoring for his school with 39 runs, laced with three fours and a six. Aman S. Haque (19, 2x4) was another notable scorer for his side.

Kunal Sarma and Kumar Kashyap claimed a wicket each.

Adhiraj Hazarika was adjudged the Man of the Match.
